What ChurnNote reads

• Nothing. Slack is outbound only

What ChurnNote cannot do

• Read your Slack messages, channels or members
• Post anywhere except the single channel your incoming webhook points at
• Do anything at all until you paste a webhook URL and switch it on

Permissions you grant

• One Slack incoming-webhook URL, which you create and scope to a channel

Setup

1. 1Create a Slack app, or use an existing one, and enable Incoming Webhooks
2. 2Add a webhook to the channel you want churn alerts in
3. 3Paste the URL into ChurnNote Settings and send a test message
4. 4Turn alerts on. They are off until you do

What triggers a message

• A cancellation is classified as high-recoverability
• A payment fails
• A subscription is scheduled to cancel
• Once-daily digest of derived signals that have no webhook of their own

Security and key storage

• The webhook URL is validated as a real Slack URL before it is saved
• Slack outages never block churn detection: alerts fail quietly and the event is still recorded
• Remove the URL, or delete the webhook in Slack, to stop alerts
